Participant Responsibilities
-
Yoga, like all other physical activity, should be undertaken with care and common sense to avoid injury while maximizing the benefit to be gained from yoga practice.
-
Hydration is critical. Dehydration is dangerous. Hydrate before, during, and after yoga.
-
Yoga is about you training, disciplining and discovering you. Focus on your body's reaction to each posture and how your body is reacting to the pace of the class or demands of the class instructor.
-
Adjust your effort to remain conscious of your breathing and retain a state of equilibrium at all times.
-
At the first sign of lightheadedness, pain, or other discomfort, throttle back your efforts.
-
Listen to your body. How are you feeling? How are you breathing?
-
If you experience any discomfort, seek assistance from your instructor immediately. Your instructor will provide modifications and other suggestions to maximize the benefit you receive from your yoga practice.
-
Act within the limits of your ability - listen to your body.
-
Heed all warnings regarding participation in activities.
-
Maintain control of yourself and any equipment or devices used while participating in activities.
-
Refrain from acting in any manner that may cause or contribute to the injury of yourself or others who are participating in the activities.
Yoga is more than just the posture, it is not about how you look in the poses - it is more about how you feel and how present you are in each and every moment.
